OUR WEEK UP TO WOLFCREEK OVER JULY 4TH :)

We had a great time last week up at the Timeshare of my parents, in Wolfcreek! It has become a tradition for the past few years. We had a lot of pool time, which Little Brilee absolutely loved! We bought her a "Princess" Life jacket, and she was all over it. Soon after a couple times of being out there she got to the point of jumping of the pool side, swimming with out help, face in the water, and completely submerged under the water. We were very proud of her, however the saddest part was when we had to get out for the day, she hated that! Jared, Kellie, Christian, Kate, Mom, Dad, Nan, and Brian and of course me just loved being lazy.

Other activites were the Fish Farm in North Ogden. The boys; Jared and Christian had the best time and they love to reel in the fish... My mom, Brilee and I had a hard time catching much of anything, needless to say we eventually contributed to the 12 huge fish Jar and Christian had already... Nan, supervised, I was afraid Brilee was going to fall in any minute, because she wanted to explore and get close to the fishes... Oh, and she spilled all of our fish food within in the first minute of starting... We hauled it away and had an excellent dinner of fried, and grilled Trout. It was pretty good, even for someone we isn't a big fan of Trout. (Salmon is my all time fav).

Another day, my Mom, Nan, Brilee, and I went to the Monestary, up in Eden area I think? We went on a nice drive of checking all the area around the Lake. We made it in time to go and hear the monks chant. It was so interesting to see Monks for the first time let alone chant. It was very spiritual and beautiful. There were about 11 of them, and quite up there in ages. The youngest that we saw was in his 70's? After the chanting we waited under some trees for the giftstore to open so we could purchase jams, carmels, and honey all made by other Nuns, and the Monks themselves. The Brother Monk that was sitting there running the store was so HUMBLE, and had been there since 1950, came when he was 22, straight out of college. It is amazing to see that this man would give up his life to God and the world for the rest of his life! We need to be more like them... Even better is that Lil Miss Brilee actual didn't make a peep, and sat there and listened... We were all nervous and on edge that she would be naughty through it all, but she prevailed and was GOOD!

We got alot of movie time in, board games, and videogames, delish food, and tons of SNACKS :) Thanks for the fab time MOM and DAD!

  1. I didn't know there was a monastery in Eden. We'll have to check that out sometime. I'm glad you had such a wonderful family vacation.
