Sledding up at Beaver Mountain.

Brian & Brilee Girl Sledding together!

Brilee not so sure if she likes it.

Or maybe it is going to be ok...

Or... then again maybe not!

Being Pulled up the hill by Daddy.

Running around the Beaver Mountain Lodge, Logan UT.

I just told Brilee she wasn't BIG enough to Ski yet. How she take it?
Not so good.

Brilee insisted she check out the people and kids taking skiing lessons.

Brian, Brilee, and I had the opportunity to go up with our ward, to Beaver Mountain Resort, a couple of weeks ago. Brian and I were feeling alittle "Betty Crocker," and even prepared Taco Soup for dinner that night to share with the other ward members. We followed the recipe to the "T" and the master piece was DELICIOUS!
We headed up around 3:00, Wednesday afternoon, with all our odds and ends. From snow pants, hats, coats, warm boots, a sled, along with our delicious soup,we began the trip up Logan Canyon. I have not been up to Beaver Mountain for years, and Brian has never been there. (We kept our fingers crossed that we wouldn't miss the turn, and end up somewhere in Idaho or Bear Lake). By the time we made it to the resort, I recognized other ward members pulling up behind us, and unloading as well. We made the long haul in with all our odds and ends. and a child who was so layered and bound she couldn't even move her legs to step up the lodge stairs. So along with all our stuff and an impatient child, finally we made it inside the lodge. Already hot chocolate and donuts were prepared and ready to be eaten.

The views of the slopes with it's glistening, slick, mountainsides' were beautiful! The day couldn't have been any better. The sky was clear and not to cold either.

Brilee thought it was cool inside the lodge and quickly was wanting to explore and look outside at the people getting ready to hit the slopes. I took her down by the other kids who were learning to ski, and she got so upset when she realized she didn't get to do what they were all doing. Poor thing I know she wants to be so BIG!

The lifts were started and lessons for the new snowboarders and skiers were under way. I was going to try to be brave take some snowboarding lessons, since they were dirt cheap, along with the rentals, but after seeing others snowboard and ski, it made me hurt. That's the last thing we need is an accident or injury of some sort.

The best part of the evening was finding a little hillside designated for sledding. We came prepared with a sled borrowed from my parent's garage, and Brian and Brilee were on their way down it. I took some really cute pictures and Brilee loved being towed up the hill after each time down. She wasn't to sure of it all, but overall was very brave.

After, we had a nice bowl of soup, a cup of hot chocolate, and topped it all off with donuts. I would have to say it was a fun Ward Activity Night.
